Had a little time over the weekend to work on the 1st prototype of the motion decoy I've been meaning to work on for a while. It is basically a standard duck decoy that is outfitted with a small motor inside that moves the head (bill really) down into the water and then back up to the upright position. Should cause some good ripple action in the water. Plus it should look fairly realistic. The mechanism worked well but I had a hard time fitting it into the decoy. Back to the drawing board.
I hope to have this guy figured out before this year's duck season. Might even be able to sell some custom-built (ie homemade) versions if all goes well. Let me know if you are interested.
